School in Backpack

Of all the necessities and needs we believe educating communities to transform lives is the key for survival of Tibetan authenticity and for all future prospects and plans.  Although there are schools in every Tibetan settlement in India but in Ladakh, Tibetans are scattered across the different region majorly because of nomadic livelihood and Ironically, there is only one settlement office for entire ladakh, So many of Tibetans in Ladakh are located at very isolated remote places near India china border which requires days and nights of journey to reach and many of those are not motorable hence end up totally dissociated and Isolated and not able to be reach by Tibetan settlement or exile government or by any NGOs for that matter, like many of those Jangthang Tibetan camps.

 

So we being born and raised at such places and knowing not being reached by any Government or NGOs and remain undeveloped and helpless. To educate and transform people of such places we personally or our elected experienced staff carrying all the school requirements in their backpack and travel days and night to reach and teach those children for years and months. thereafter by gaining the trust of parent, we convinced parent to educate their children by enrolling them to school for which we escort their children from the parent house till board into the school.

It has been very difficult to convinced Exile government  but with consisted effort and dedication, After nearly 20 years we have managed to we have them channel through Tibetan exile Government or their relevant offices but we continue to look for such needy requirements and this project still continues at such remote places.
